Monumental staghorn ferns suspended in a 115‑year‑old, 30‑foot elevator shaft
A decommissioned freight elevator, untouched for decades, becomes a vertical garden of massive platycerian specimens suspended in handcrafted kokedama moss orbs, ancient and alien forms floating in darkness.
After ten years of imagination, the shaft opens for the first time during PlantCon LA weekend.
Each orb is a living composition: staghorns, bromeliads, ferns, and epiphytes woven into suspended moss spheres. These are just a few of the 25+ specimens that will fill the shaft.
